Desert Vista AZ sophomore Sammy Van Alstine won his varsity blue race in 14:45.7 at the 37th Woodbridge Cross Country Classic at SilverLakes Sports Complex in Norco, Calif. Van Alstine was one of seven Desert Vista runners to break 15 minutes, with the Thunder also taking second in the Doug Speck sweepstakes race by an 83-118 margin to Great Oak CA.
