Sydney Sundgren, a senior at Buchanan High in California, placed 10th in the Bob Day girls sweepstakes race at the 41st Woodbridge Cross Country Classic Presented by ASICS, covering the 3-mile layout at Great Park in Irvine, Calif., in 16;14.7. Sundgren was followed by sophomore Elle Lomeli in 11th in 16;15.3 and freshman Kynzlee Buckley in 13th in 16:19.6 to help the Bears produce five scorers in the top 41 to achieve a 91-107 victory against Southlake Carroll of Texas, securing a third team title in six years and fourth in program history.
