Leo Young, a junior at Newbury Park High in California, achieved the fastest 3-mile cross country performance in prep history by clocking 13:38.1 on the 3-mile layout in the Doug Speck boys varsity sweepstakes race at the 40th Woodbridge Cross Country Classic presented by ASICS at SilverLakes Sports Complex in Norco, Calif. Leo Young eclipsed the all-time mark of 13:39.7 achieved in 2019 at SilverLakes by older brother Nico Young. The Panthers swept the top four spots to produce a 25-190 victory over Great Oak, along with eclipsing their own all-time mark with a team time of 69:30.9. More videos |
